I'm Shayna (she/they), and as a fellow human, I recognize life moves fast, it can be a lot. Even for young children, life may seem full of demands. When you add in neurodivergence or other marginalized identities, it may become increasingly complex to navigate a world not designed to understand, accept, or accommodate these experiences.
I can be a curious partner in navigating challenges such as the overwhelm that comes with life as a highly sensitive person, parenting a demand-avoidant child, or navigating a gender journey (your own or someone you care for or support). If you're feeling the burden of trying to communicate your needs to others, on the outskirts of being understood, you're not alone. Let's work together and find a space where you might be more at ease.
I came to the field of therapy as a second career, but nothing has felt more natural than this life transition. I left the corporate world behind after some soul searching in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and have felt joy, inspiration, affirmation, honor, and privilege as I join people on their journey to growth, love, acceptance, and cultivating self-care.
I am grateful to make use of my ongoing education alongside lived experience to normalize, validate, and help others recognize they don't need to be "fixed" but can be affirmed and seen in ways they may not have been given space for in the past. Living authentically is a possibility. Let's seek ways to problem-solve what truly isn't working for you without twisting into knots to accommodate others.
